Acting is not just about portraying a character on stage or screen; it is a transformative experience that can inspire positive change. My passion for acting stems from my family background and early experiences on stage. Acting has been a means of survival and has influenced my research on creativity and theatricality, harnessing the power of creativity to reshape our world for the better.

I am fortunate to have a diverse and extensive acting career that spans across stage, television, film, and radio. My passion for performing began at a young age, with fond memories of stage performances during New Year Shows starting from the age of 10 in -52C in the coldest City in the world Yakutsk. My love for acting is inherited from my father, who was trained in Mali Theatre in Moscow, USSR, although I have little recollection of him, as he passed away when I was young. Raised in Siberia by my stepfather and mother, I later relocated to St. Petersburg (Leningrad) to study acting.

I hold a degree in Acting for Film and Theatre from the Renowned St. Petersburg State Academy of Theatrical Arts under the guidance of Larisa Malevannaya. Additionally, I completed a Master of Arts in Theatre and Film from the University of NSW and an MPhil in Drama from the University of Newcastle Australia.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in Russia, Israel, and Australia. I have performed with esteemed organisations such as the Bell Shakespeare Company, Sydney Art Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre Company, and NIDA. I have been directed by such legends as Richard Werrett in “Merchant of Venice”, where I have performed Jessica. My achievements include receiving the People’s Choice Award at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatrical Arts.

I have had the honour of collaborating with renowned actors such as Tony Collette, Ruth Cracknell, Joel Edgerton, and Caroline Brazier. My work spans across various mediums, including theatre, voice-overs, radio plays, and films in multiple languages.

As one of the organisers of the Sydney Art Theatre with Bogdan Koca and Slava Orel, I performed in numerous productions, including the Gunter’s Wife that was written for me and directed by Bogdan Koca and the famous production of Crime and Punishment adapted from the Dostoevsky novel by Eugene Ulman and directed by unforgettable Slava Orel.

Recent notable projects include the film “Petrol“, written and directed by Alena Lodkina, where I showcased my talents in two languages. I have also acted in such a successful productions as “Happy Feet” (2006) and “Mystery of Nathalie Wood” (2012), working with acclaimed film-makers like Peter Bogdanovic and George Miller.

My dedication to the arts extends beyond performance, as I have presented theatrical research at international conferences. I have received critical acclaim for my roles in films such as “I Want to Make the Film about Women” and “Petrol“, which have been well-received at film festivals worldwide.

Theatre Reviews:

“Romantsova is an actor we don’t see often enough on stage. I am always astonished by her abilities. In The Bench she is sexy, fragile, shrewd, manipulative, and tender, to name just the most obvious moods. The toilet roll in the handbag is a touch of genius…. Romantsova hits the spot”, Colin Rose, Sun Herald, SMH

“Romantsova is deft, vibrant and sheer delight…to watch”, Pamela Payne Sun Herald

Film Reviews:

“Lodkina ties this mystical and counter-rational dimension to Eva’s mother, an excellent Inga Romantsova”, Petrol
